Why does the translation exist?

Despite the fratricidal war, we fight for universal brotherhood. Despite the diversity of languages, there are people who speak foreign languages, are polyglots and interpreters, who may satisfy all tastes and needs.

How do they do it?

I have already told that I have changed guidelines, refusing to consider the theoretical dilemma translatability / non-translatability of the text and replaced it on practical compliance / non-compliance of the original.

To change the course, let's return to the interpretation (explication) of the myth of Babel. I do not want to say goodbye to it on a tragic note, treating it only as a way of the image of linguistic disaster that God has sent down to people through envy to their successful project. You can read this myth differently in the context of other myths of creation, which tell (without assessments and charges) on the slow process of initial separation of the whole into elements. Let’s start from the beginning of Genesis, from the moment the divided space and emerged from the chaos of the world order. The continuation of the same process can be considered as a myth about the first fall, lost innocence and the expulsion from paradise, which, however, suggests the first people achieve maturity and sense of responsibility of their heritage. Then let’s talk about - and it’s very importantly for the interpretation of the myth of Babel - to the story of fratricide of Abel, since this moment the notion of brotherhood from the natural fact becomes a moral issue. So if we accept this interpretation of Genesis (and I have to admit that divide it, as well as Paul Boshamp), then the myth of Babel, which refers to the mixing and dispersion of languages on earth as it logically completes the entire series of works about the distribution of prehistoric whole into its elements and brings this phenomenon directly to the field of language.

So we are, who we actually are, and in the relevant position are "scattered" and "mixed" .... And what are we urged to? - Let's say....Prior to translate.

To make the suggested Bible reading more convincing, I recall (as its has been done by Umberto Eco), that before the story of Babel there is a mention in Bible about existence of not the one but several languages, in addition, this is referred to as a matter of course:

"That's genealogy sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth. After the flood they born children...
They populated Islands by people to their lands, each in their language, in their tribes, in their nations "(Genesis: 10,1,5)
Bible verses quoted do not express anything except simple kindness in relation to listed facts. The need to translate from one language to another looks, therefore, not as a way to punish, but as a usual vital necessity. Following by this is the text of which is called the myth of Babel.
And the whole earth was of one language and of one speech..
And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, the land of Shinar found a plain and settled there.
And they said one to another, Come, make brick, and firing it well!
And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for mortar.
And they said, Behold build us a city and a tower, whose top reach unto heaven.
And let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of all the earth.
And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the sons of men built.
And the LORD said people is one, and the language is one for all of them, and this is the beginning of their work.
So go down, and there confound their languages, that they may not understand one another’s speech.
And God scattered them over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building that city.
And so he called the name Babel, because there the LORD mixed language of all the earth. And from there the LORD scattered them across the face of the earth.
These are the generation of Shem: Shem was an hundred years, and has begat Arphaxad two years after the flood.
And Shem lived after he begat Arphaxad, sauté five years. And he begat sons and daughters.(Genesis: 11,1-11)

Do you agree that this text is not heard no reproach, no complains, no charges? And God scattered them over the face of all the earth, and they stopped building that city. They stopped building that city! That's it! And if such a reality, we will translate!
